ABOUT
Hi I’m Dr Elly Cameron – a passionate rabbit lover and veterinarian
Since I was a little girl, I wanted to be a veterinarian. I have always loved animals and grew up with cats and rabbits.
My love of animals led me to veterinary school. After graduating as a veterinarian in NZ I moved to North Carolina with my husband in 2009. I was a small animal veterinarian in Raleigh, NZ seeing cats, dogs and of course my favorites – rabbits! The last few years I have been working here and there as a locum while I concentrate on bringing up our two girls.
Rabbit.mag is where I document everything I have learned about rabbits over my lifetime experience and what I have learned from seeing them as patients. From rabbit nutrition and health problems to rabbit behavior. I will try to cover it all for you.
This site is all about answering common questions about keeping rabbits as pets as well as wild rabbit information. Everything on Rabbitmag.com is based on my personal experience combined with research.
I have noticed over the last ten years or so that many people are looking for their answers on the internet rather than through books or asking their vets. Much of the information I see is incorrect and misguided – some of it is fabulous but it can be very hard to differentiate…
I have read countless books, articles and studies to develop my own opinions and knowledge outside of what you usually find on the internet. I will endeavor to do my best to give you the most up to date information and recommendations.
I am currently living in North Carolina with my husband, two daughters (both are rabbit and cat mad) our Burmese cat Mr Pickles, 4 chickens, and two rabbits – Mojo and Nester who are closely bonded.
